Some of the key accountabilities for this role will include (but are not limited to) 
  • Assist Health Safety & Environment Lead to develop Health Safety & Environment system to meet new company global standards as well as compliance to local regulatory requirements
  • Serve as secondary point of contact for all Health Safety & Environment regulatory contacts
  • Ensure all Health Safety & Environment related records, permits, licenses are continually in order.  Liaise with governmental agencies as necessary.
  • Plan, manage and track Health Safety & Environment related tests and monitoring to ensure continued compliance with the relevant requirements.
  • Assist HS & E Lead to develop Shah Alam factory Health Safety & Environment management systems for ISO 14001/ ISO 45001 certification.
  • Track factory Health Safety & Environment performance indicators and report to HS & E Lead.
  • Ensure compliance of Health Safety & Environment management systems and take appropriate corrective action to ensure compliance and provide Health Safety & Environment support in Risk Assessment, LOTO, managing contractors, working at height, confined space, permit to work etc as required.
  • Facilitate the incident investigation and work closely with the area owner to close the corrective/ preventive action.
  • Conduct regular training, coaching as well as communication sessions on Safety, Health or Environment & Security, with employees as and when required
  • Understand the legal and compliance responsibility of the position. Lead ethically and model compliant behaviour.
  • Maintain an environment where the employees are encouraged to speak up without fear nor retaliation.
  • Ensure employees in area of responsibility understand the compliance responsibilities of their jobs and actively participate in the compliance program.

Qualifications

 
Education, Knowledge, Experience
  • Preferably with Degree or Professional qualification in related fields
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in HSE (Safety, Health & Environment) in manufacturing environment
  • Good communicator and strong influencing skills
  • Competency in Wastewater treatment plant operations or scheduled waste management are preferred
