Global HSE Training & Competency Specialist
Work Schedule: USA - 9 hrs / day - 4 hrs on Fri

Job Summary
The HSE Training & Competency Specialist will coordinate operations, health, safety, and environmental/regulatory focused learning and development programs. This role will help maximize the business impact from training as we continue to develop our global training function. The position will support the creation of appropriate training materials and computer-based learning modules. These training materials will be a key component in establishing role specific competencies when aligned with practical workplace assessments to determine the level of competency against role specific requirements.
Successful candidates will be organized, detail oriented, passionate about the quality of their work, and committed to providing our employees and individual Business Units with a well-organized and effective training and competency program.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Business Units to develop and execute effective LMS and Competency Programs
- Utilize effective and efficient planning, participant enrollment and distribution methods to ensure HSE training programs are delivered according to agreed criteria and schedule
- Utilizes SuccessFactors LMS to build, migrate and maintain training and competency records
- Convert training and competency material into SCORM/AICC compliant courses for migration into LMS
- Setup and maintain AICC/SCORM source files for training material housed in LMS
- Point of contact for data entry and training module assignments
- Coordinates HSE compliance efforts in auditing HSE training records
- Collaborate with departments to develop and deliver role specific training modules and evaluation tools
- Course content development to support Onshore and Offshore business units to ensure regulatory compliance
- Work closely with HSE colleagues and Business Units to develop a Competency Program to ensure training is augmented with competency assessments in the field.
- Work to expand and enhance existing training programs.
- Utilize Hazard Hunt findings and Learning From Incidents (LFI) to develop focused training programs to address specific needs in the field, both onshore and offshore, to improve competency and safe and compliant operations.
- Participate in the development and maintenance of training tracking system to ensure field and office personnel remain compliant with course requirements and maintaining a course scheduling system for individuals.
- Evaluate and assess 3rd party training centers and optimize training programs to utilize inhouse or 3rd party training centers to deliver cost effective and compliant training programs.
- Develop and maintain role specific competencies related to field training and development in the Upstream Oil and Gas Industry
- Maintain and publish schedules of on-line, webinar and live training activities
- Facilitate end user training and support for the LMS
- Assign LMS training modules to specific roles and track progress towards establishing competency
- Track training data and create monthly, quarterly and annual reports to illustrate key training metrics
- Prepare reports and analyze LMS usage data to recommend focus areas based on results
- Produce printed and electronic course materials to support all training formats
- Coordinate course scheduling, production and shipment of training materials
- Serve as a subject matter expert by contributing both ideas and expertise in the development of training and role specific competencies
- Provide guidance and assistance to HSE field representatives and HSE supervisors in developing and delivering area specific HSE training
- Provide project support to ensure effective and successful sustainability of the training and competency programs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field required
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in HSE training
- Knowledge in HSE and Operations focused LMS; SuccessFactors LMS experience preferred
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple on-going projects and prioritize workload
- Course content development experience with focus on health, safety, environmental and regulatory compliance at the field level
- Understanding of Upstream Oil and Gas Industry
- Knowledge of domestic and international regulatory health and safety training requirements
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proven experience and highly developed skills teaching as an instructor
- Detail and deadline oriented, yet able to adjust to changing circumstances and priorities
- Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Acrobat, Captivate, SuccessFactors, and SAP
- Subject matter expert for on-line learning systems
